Transforming Waste to Energy: Apeiron Energy & Project Barbican.

In parallel to project Aldgate, we will invest a further £1.1bn in a second raft of UK SAF projects. This will also be over a 36-month period. Around 20% of the build value will be spent locally, and via targeted procurement initiatives.

This second SAF production facility will generate circa £400m per annum for the local economy. Taking our contribution to the UK’s GDP to c£800m per annum.

The SAF production facilities will create c130 directly employed – both skilled and unskilled jobs.

“Project Barbican galvanises our mission to be at the forefront of aviation decarbonisation,” said Will Moss, CEO of Apeiron Energy. “By utilising the same MSW feedstock, and generating a valuable energy resource, we’re tackling two of the UK’s biggest environmental challenges – waste management and clean energy supply.”
